My Lucky Hockey Equipment

This is Next Magazine's March 4th issue.  On the cover, you'll see one sexy model posing in some rough n'tough hockey equipment.  That equipment belongs to ME.  He he.  A few days before this photo shoot, a photographer friend of mine (Jeff Eason -- he's AMAZING at what he does) called me asking if I knew where he could get some hockey equipment for his shoot.  I happily volunteered to help.

The shoot was at The Ritz Lounge in Hell's Kitchen.  We were upstairs. The model's name was Don Hood.  He was very professional. He brought his own baby oil for some shine.  I helped with the styling a little bit, meaning I suggested that he wear the hockey socks as if he was getting undressed.  And I arranged the ice skates in each shot.  It was fun.

The best part of the entire experiences is how Jeff and Don referred to my hockey helmet as a "hat" (God, I love that).  It's like when some of my "musical theatre" friends ask me when I have hockey rehearsals...

I posted the photos above on Facebook and got lots of interesting questions from my friends.  Here are some answers: Did I clean the equipment for him?  No, it was straight out of my locker.  I think it stunk, but he had so much baby oil on him, the equipment now smells like baby oil.  And I skate faster.  Did I get his number?  No, I didn't ask for it.  I know my place in society and it isn't asking out beautiful guys like that.  HAHA.  What am I saying.  I didn't mean that.  I was professional.  That's right.  It was for art!
